Puriri Press, owned and managed by John Denny, is a sole-operator press which specialises in the design and production of small editions of books. The press was founded in 1988, although its roots go back to the mid-1970s. Initially the printing was entirely letterpress, but since the early 1990s methods have gradually evolved to embrace both digital and letterpress technologies, with both often being used within the same publication. Regardless of the printing method used, the books are assembled and sewn by hand, resulting in unique handcrafted items. Over the years Puriri Press has produced many works on behalf of individuals, societies and other enterprises, but this website features only those books and broadsheets which have been funded and published by Puriri Press and which are still in print. New works will be listed as they become available.
